How Alabama State Track Qualification Works
Alabama has seven classifications — 7A, 6A, 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A, 1A — governed by the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA). The state championships run as two paired meets each year — Classes 1A through 3A together at one site, and Classes 4A through 7A together at another (typically Cramton Bowl in Montgomery for the larger classes and Gulf Shores for the smaller).
Alabama runs section → state qualifying. Each classification holds sectional meets across the state, with the top finishers in each event advancing. AHSAA publishes a single combined results PDF for each paired meet, covering boys and girls events.
Below: every AHSAA state meet from 2022–2025 — two paired-class PDFs per year, both genders covered in each.
