How Oregon State Track Qualification Works
Oregon has six classifications — 6A through 1A — governed by the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA). The state championships run together at Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus over a single weekend in late May, with all six classes contested concurrently across the iconic venue.
Oregon runs district → state qualifying. Each class has its own districts, with the top finishers advancing. Hayward Field’s recent renovation makes Oregon one of the few states whose championship venue is a world-class facility, drawing strong fields and producing fast times.
OSAA delegates state meet results to Athletic Timing. Each year is a single combined meet covering all six classifications and both genders. Below: every OSAA state meet from 2022–2025.
