How Florida State Track Qualification Works
Florida has four classifications — 4A, 3A, 2A, 1A — governed by the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA). All four classes run their state finals together at one venue over a single weekend in early May.
Florida runs a multi-tier qualifying pathway: district → region → state. Each classification has its own districts and regions, and the top finishers from each region advance to state. With four classes contested concurrently, Florida produces one of the deepest state-meet weekends in the country.
FHSAA delegates results hosting to MileSplit Florida. Each year is a single parent meet on MileSplit covering all four classifications and both genders. Below: every FHSAA Outdoor State Finals from 2022–2025.
