How West Virginia State Track Qualification Works
West Virginia has three classifications — Class AAA, Class AA, and Class A — governed by the West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission (WVSSAC). The state championships are held in mid-May, traditionally at the University of Charleston’s Stadium at Laidley Field.
West Virginia runs regional → state qualifying. Each class holds its own regional meets, with the top finishers in each event advancing to state. WVSSAC’s archive model has shifted over the years — some years (2022, 2024) publish per-class per-gender PDFs on the WVSSAC site itself; other years delegate to timing partners like Mountain Timing or athletic.net.
Below: every WVSSAC state meet from 2022–2025. The result format varies by year — 2022 and 2024 are per-class per-gender PDFs; 2023 is per-class on athletic.net (each link covers both genders); 2025 is the Mountain Timing aggregate covering all classes.

WVSSAC’s archive uses three different hosting models across 2022–2025. 2022 and 2024 are per-class per-gender PDFs on wvssac.org. 2023 is per-class on athletic.net (each meet covers both genders). 2025 is a single aggregate on Mountain Timing covering all classes.
