How Kansas State Track Qualification Works
Kansas has six classifications — 6A through 1A — governed by the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA). All six classes run their state meets together at Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium over a single weekend in late May.
Kansas runs regional → state qualifying. Each class has its own regions; the top finishers from each region advance to state. Because all six classes share a venue, Cessna Stadium runs nearly continuously over the championship weekend, with athletes from every part of the state in attendance.
KSHSAA delegates state meet results to MileSplit Kansas. Each year is a single combined meet on MileSplit covering all six classifications and both genders. Below: every KSHSAA state meet from 2022–2025.
