How Texas State Track Qualification Works
Texas has six classifications — 6A through 1A — governed by the University Interscholastic League (UIL). The state championship is held at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas at Austin each May.
Texas runs four tiers of qualifying: district → area → regional → state. The top two finishers in each event at the regional meet advance to state. With four regions per classification, that’s eight athletes per event at state — meaning regional finals are often as fast as the state meet itself, since you need to win or place top-2 at regionals just to make state in the larger classes.
UIL publishes a compiled state meet results PDF each year covering all six classifications, boys and girls. Below: every UIL state meet from 2022–2025.
Full Meet Results
UIL publishes a single compiled results PDF per year covering all six classifications and both genders. Live results during the meet are available on UIL’s timing-partner portal.
