How Alaska State Track Qualification Works
Alaska has two divisions for state track — Division I (larger schools) and Division II (smaller schools) — governed by the Alaska School Activities Association (ASAA). The state meet rotates between Anchorage-area host venues each spring, with both divisions competing on the same weekend.
Alaska’s small population and unique geography mean travel is a major factor — many qualifying meets feed straight into state, with no intermediate regional or area tier. Athletes earn a spot at state through performance lists and conference standings.
ASAA publishes a single compiled state championship results PDF per year covering both divisions, boys and girls. Below: every state meet, 2022–2025.
