How North Carolina State Track Qualification Works
North Carolina has four classifications — Class 4A, 3A, 2A, 1A — governed by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA). Note: NCHSAA covers public schools; private and independent schools fall under NCISAA, which is a separate organization not included here.
North Carolina runs regional → state qualifying. Each class has its own regions, with the top finishers from each region advancing. The state championships have used different paired-meet structures year-to-year — 2025 ran four separate per-class meets, while earlier years paired classes (1A/3A + 2A/4A or 1A/4A + 2A/3A) into combined meets.
NCHSAA hosts results across two systems — some on nchsaa.org directly as PDFs, others delegated to MileSplit North Carolina. Below: every NCHSAA state meet from 2022–2025, with the actual per-year structure preserved.
Full Meet Results
NCHSAA hosts state meet results across nchsaa.org (direct PDFs for some years) and MileSplit North Carolina (canonical archive at milesplit.live). The per-year structure varies as NCHSAA’s pairing model has shifted; the links below match how each year was actually published.
