How Wyoming State Track Qualification Works
Wyoming has four classifications — 4A, 3A, 2A, and 1A — governed by the Wyoming High School Activities Association (WHSAA). The state championship is held at Kelly Walsh High School in Casper each May.
Wyoming runs two tiers of qualifying: regional → state. Each classification holds an east and a west regional, and the top finishers from each regional advance. With Wyoming’s low population and large geography, regional meets pull from a wide footprint — you’re often racing the same handful of athletes you’ll see at state.
WHSAA publishes a single compiled state meet results PDF each year covering all four classifications, boys and girls, in one document. Below: every WHSAA state meet from 2022–2025.
